Although we’re known as the Salmon Sisters, we've been fishing for halibut together with our parents since we were old enough to be helpful on the backdeck, baiting hooks and cleaning the halibut coming aboard. We still fish for your halibut, taking excellent care of each and every fish to bring you a taste of our love for this fish and the livelihood it provides us. Halibut is the world’s premium whitefish. Its sweet delicate flavor, snow-white flesh and firm, flaky texture makes it loved by nearly everyone, even those who are not natural seafood lovers (hard as not being a seafood lover is to imagine!). These qualities have earned halibut the nickname ‘the steak of seafood’. It’s great for all cooking techniques, known to keep its shape, it’s particularly delicious grilled or roasted.

Our family fishes for your halibut near the Aleutian Islands, in the Bering Sea and the Gulf of Alaska in the late summer, and bring our catch to Homer for processing and shipping to our customers.
We catch halibut onboard our family's 58ft fishing vessels, the F/V Oracle and Stanley K by longlining. Each halibut that we catch is immediately gutted, cleaned, and packed with ice and tucked into our fish holds. We've been fishing for halibut together as a family since we were old enough to be helpful on the backdeck, baiting hooks and cleaning the halibut coming aboard. Our dad, mom, and the two of us are halibut IFQ owners, and halibut fishing helped us pay our way through college and fund the early stages of Salmon Sisters.
