Our Partners

When we started Salmon Sisters, one of the keystones to our vision was that we would be able to give back to organizations and causes that were important to us.  We've felt lucky to find such well-run organizations working towards promoting sustainable fisheries and healthy oceans in Alaska, and we've began two wonderful partnerships based on our mutually shared goal for a healthier ocean. We give a percentage of our monthly sales to AMCC and the Great Land Trust. We made friends with the ladies at AMCC (Alaska Marine Conservation Council) this year at Fish Expo in Seattle. We shared a booth and sold the AK Marine Hoodies we made for the event. They were a big hit! And have continued to be, since their creation. AMCC works towards conservation solutions that address the interdependence between healthy marine ecosystems, vibrant local economies and rich coast traditions. What we love best about this organization is their creativity, their grassroots advocacy, their community outreach and their educational efforts. We're making new Wild Alaskan Seafood tote bags for AMCC this week for their booth at summer farmers markets in Anchorage. Once upon a time, our dad was one of AMCC's founding members, and we're glad we've been able to keep our family's connection to the organization alive. Good people. ScottD_140326_4381h   Our most recent partnership has begun with the Great Land Trust, a local Alaskan land conservation nonprofit that works with willing landowners to protect our most valuable land and waterways. The organization has conserved over 40 miles of salmon spawning and rearing habitat and works closely with the folks in Homer at the KHLT (Kachemak Heritage Land Trust). The Great Land Trust's work reaches communities from the Mat-su Valley to Prince William Sound and Kodiak. We brainstormed up a new Salmon Dreams Hoodie together, dedicated to wild salmon conservation and the health of Alaska's waterways which makes a future for wild salmon possible. salmon streamsdreams    "Sentiment without action is the ruin of the soul."                                                               - Edward Abbey
