"Fish, Explore, Conserve" - Repping Our Water with New Fishing Hats

This summer we've teamed up again with our friends at RepYourWater, a company dedicated to producing top tier gear for anglers and hunters and inspiring conservation and outdoor exploration across the U.S. We designed the two caps and fisherman's beanie (coming later this summer) for all of the folks whose lives are connected to and sustained by Alaska's thriving salmon runs.

"When we first started on our collaboration with the Salmon Sisters we knew it was going to be a wonderful fit. We are each family-owned, small businesses with a focus on conservation and being able to highlight each other's work is what makes collaborations like this one so rewarding.  We love both the sustainable seafood that they provide and helping to tell that story through the hats that we make together." -Corinne Doctor, RepYourWater co-owner.

For every hat sold, Salmon Sisters contributes 1% of proceeds to our local Trout Unlimited Alaska Chapter, an organization dedicated to keeping Alaska's wild salmon habitat thriving in Bristol Bay, the Susitna River, and the Tongass National Forest. When you sport these hats, you're joining a community that celebrates and takes care of Alaska's wild salmon habitat, whether you fish the open ocean or your local streams.

Trout Unlimited is currently involved in a national campaign to protect Bristol Bay, a pristine habitat home to the world's largest sockeye salmon fishery, from the proposed Pebble Mine.

"The salmon industries of Bristol Bay have struck a harmonious chord and there is potential for this beautiful note to be enjoyed for centuries to come if current salmon management and fish habitat are maintained...Currently, developers of the Pebble Mine are seeking approval from the U.S. Government and now is the last opportunity to ask the Army Corps of Engineers to reject Pebble’s permit due to its massive, irreparable impact to fish habitat.

As the saying goes, 'all good things are wild and free.' Let's stand together to keep Bristol Bay wild and free and the salmon habitat clean and pristine.

We thank our lucky stars for Alaska's healthy and abundant salmon runs and as commercial fishermen, we understand the importance of being stewards of the resources we depend on. That's why we created the Big Dipper Fish Cap, a fitted low-profile hat that will protect you from the elements and while you're fishing this summer.

Salmon are the life blood of our waterways in Alaska. When they make their journey back to the watersheds where they were born to spawn, their return provides sustenance for a variety of species like the brown bear, as well as essential nutrients to surrounding forests. This is what makes our state The Great Land, rich in healthy habitat. The Great Land Cap is your go-to hat to rep this wild place you love.
