Scenes from Grayback fishcamp in Olga Bay on the South End of Kodiak Island, near the historic Alitak Cannery. Nina's fishcamp is reached by float plane or boat from the town of Kodiak, about 100 miles away. As a kid, she spent her summers here, salmon fishing with her family. She has returned for over 45 summers, coming now from her winter home in Homer, Alaska. Nina runs a set net site and catches salmon every summer out of open skiff with her crew and trusty dogs. Olga Bay is abundant with salmon and king crab, and sheltered from the open ocean of the Gulf of Alaska, where it meets Shelikof Straight.
