About Woven in the Waves
Hello! I'm Cayla, the creator and owner of woven in the waves based in Sitka, AK. I am Lingít and belong to the Dakl'aweidí tribe of Angoon. I worked several jobs in the service industry before I began playing around with macrame in 2017. Over the last several years I have learned that my hope for this work is to come alongside people in my community to help integrate more of the arts into our mental health work locally and statewide. While I spend a fair chunk of my time creating, I also aspire to work within the community to grow connections and accessibility to diverse forms of healing.
