Since starting our business, we have been sure of one thing: we love our customers!

You have pushed us to new places and inspired us everyday with your enthusiasm for what’s wild and strong and beautiful in the world. We wanted to create a special experience for our customers that goes beyond our webshop, and lets us be more flexible and connected to our Alaskan community. We’re excited to announce the newest additions to our Salmon Sisters family, the Fleet and the Flagship!

THE FLEET

Salmon Sisters will be on the road this summer with our Small Fins Fleet, a van and trailer pop-up shop. The Fleet was designed to forge strong customer connections across the state and to bring Salmon Sisters goods to communities in Alaska that are small, remote, with limited shopping options. No need to travel far, we'll bring the shop to you! Check out our summer schedule and @fleetandflagship on Instagram to stay updated on our whereabouts.

THE FLAGSHIP

Once a shipping container used to pack fish across the sea between Alaska and Asia, now our tiny flagship store in Homer, Alaska. We designed and constructed the Flagship with a team of talented young Alaskans we grew up with – an architect, a welder, and a woodworker. The Wheelhouse lives a stone’s throw from two fabulous breweries, down the street from the Homer Farmer’s Market, and at the base of the Homer Spit, where the boat harbor and summer shops bustle. Though it's pint sized, the Flagship is a space for community. We stock your favorite Salmon Sisters designs and the work of local artists and makers. We will be holding events and workshops throughout the summer for all to enjoy. Our doors are open, so take a trip to the end of the road and say hello!

Shipping Containers have always been part of our landscape in Alaska, but we started thinking hard about their potential after working with shipping company Maersk Line on a project last summer. We would like to thank everyone who helped our Flagship happen: Container design by Will Anderson, who will be attending Columbia's graduate program in architecture this fall. Metal fabrication by John Roedl, owner of RMC Metalworking. Woodworking and installation by Ashton Callahan, of Callahan Custom Construction. Signage by Brad Conley, of Cold Water Designs. Everyone who helped construct the Flagship are graduates of Homer High School and involved in marine trades. We are so grateful for these talented folks, who came together to build something special amongst the flurry of pre-season boat work and the summer season. We're proud to work with such talented young people in our community! This summer, the fabulous Britni Siekaniec and Grace Mellenthin will be running the show while we're away fishing.
